Elvin Acosta is a 2018 3B/2B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Prospect Park, NJ who attends Passaic Co Tech. Big and mature build with broad shoulders. Ran a 4.84 second 40 yard dash. Primary third baseman, took reps in the infield with good body control, clean hands out front funneling into body, could utilize lower half more into throws for added arm strength, gets on top of throws well with carry, topped out at 76 mph across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, very open stance, leg lift trigger with a pause at the top, quick hands and gets the barrel to the ball, swings with intent, full path in swing, creates some extension out front, occasional jump to middle of the field when on line drive plane.
