2004 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Brock Stevens is a 5'9", 170 lb. middle infielder from Indiana, Pennsylvania. In the infield he showed fair arm strength with 76 mph velocity. Brock shows a good release on his throws, and a tendency to field the ball too deep in his stance, but still shows soft hands and gets in good position. Brock is a left handed hitter with a knee lift trigger and pull approach. Stevens hit the ball consistently hard in batting practice and against live pitching at the showcase. He has some lift and extension in his swing, and looks like he has enough bat speed that he should hit some home runs with the metal bat in his hands. His tools don't stick out, but he can play.
