Salvador Moncada is a 2022 RHP/1B/3B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Yorba Linda, CA who attends Esperanza HS. Medium athletic build, has some strength for his age, very young look. High 3/4's arm action, gets downhill very well, repeats his mechanics well for a 2022 and throws consistent strikes as a result. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, mostly straight, maintained his velocity well. Nice change up with good arm speed, picked up a couple of strikeouts on change ups. Curveball has some downer depth at times, tends to throw too many curveballs. Has a young idea how to mix and use different pitches and tires to pitch to spots, will continue to improve as he gets stronger. Right handed hitter, has a simple and repeatable swing approach, inside hand path. Good student.
