Nate Spear is a 2017 C/RHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends Bishop Blanchet HS. Big and strong athletic build, broad shoulders with some projection left. 7.13 runner, moves well for his size, stays low behind the plate, blocked well in the games, quiet set up defensively, has strong hands and receives the ball cleanly, has very good arm strength, 1.96 best pop time, can improve the direction of his footwork throwing to improve accuracy, has all the physical tools to catch at the next level. Right handed hitter, slightly open stance, has a quiet balanced approach, wrapped start with the barrel creates some length, tends to over grip the bat, swings hard and has good bat speed, ball comes off the barrel hard when squared. Also pitched, has the arm strength to produce mid-80's velocity, high energy delivery with a big spin off at release. Good student.
