Joseph Phan is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Boynton Beach, FL who attends Somerset Canyons Academy. Compact frame with a slender build and room to fill. Ran a 7.55 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Smooth pace when working through the ball. Clean and quick exchanges out front into a three-quarter release. Has some strength across the diamond topping out at 78 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with smooth and rotational swing. Has some fluidity at the plate. Gets the ball into the air with jump to the pull side. Consistently made line drive contact. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a simple delivery into a high three-quarter release. Fastball shows command to the zone at 80 miles per hour. Tight spinning 11-to-5 curveball with the ability to land it for strikes. Very good student as well.
