Zachary Alston is a 2018 RHP/UT with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Upper Marlboro, MD who attends Charles Herbert Flowers HS. Lean and wiry build with some height on his frame. Ran an 8.32 60-yard dash. The primary pitcher threw from a three-quarter arm slot with a short arm action. Showed clean glove side mechanics with a soft, crossfire element to his landing. Had some hip tilt in his delivery and did a good job at commanding the strike zone. The fastball sat from 69-72 mph with some downward sink to the pitch. He mixed in a curveball with 11/5 shape and flashed some bite to the pitch. Moves well in the infield with developing arm strength and accurate throws across the diamond. Balanced stance at the plate with an up the middle approach. Low hand set with some pull-side contact skills and developing strength at the plate. Good student.
