Michael Boeke is a 2019 C/RHP, 1B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Antonian College Prep. Large frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional size and strength. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, even stance while receiving the baseball. Soft hands while receiving and worked through exchange efficiently. Compact glove circle and got the baseball out of hand quickly. Throws produced accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 78 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.03. Right handed hitter with a crouched, slightly open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Shifts into contact well with lower half. Loose path to contact with a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Showed developing feel for the barrel and employed a mid-field approach. Also pitched utilizing a smooth paced side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated good downhill tilt through the zone with run to arm side in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/5 shape with looser spin and solid depth in the low 70's. Aggressively attacked the strike zone and challenged hitters with both pitches. Excellent student.
