Joe Routhier is a 2017 SS with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Nashua, NH who attends Nashua South High School. Medium, athletic frame with sloped shoulders and present strength throughout frame, addtional room to still fill moving forward. Ran a 7.23 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with hands the play well, funnels nicely into a quick transfer, shows athleticism to actions and quickness on feet, lower arm slot on throws across, shows strength and carry across the diamond as well as accuracy. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright stance and a low hand set in the box. Pulls hands back with first movement, inside swing path through the zone but shows quickness to hands. Leg lift trigger at start with additional timing triggers, consistently gets the barrel to the ball with aline drive swing plane. Gets to front side early on occasion, uncoils well into contact and ball comes off the barrel nicely. Good student. Named to Northeast Top-Top Prospect List.
