Justin Pelley is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Batavia, IL who attends Batavia. Large frame with athletic, highly-projectable build and good room to fill remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.84 seconds. Sets up to hit from slightly open stance with high hand set. Lifts and separates in load, short to the ball with quick bat and line drive swing plane, good balance through hitting mechanics with ability to hit the ball on a line to all fields. Worked out defensively in the outfield, moves well to the ball with solid footwork and overall speed. Fields cleanly and shows extended transfer, throws from very near sidearm low slot. Solid carry on throws, clocked up to 79 MPH. Pitched as well, high take back into wrapped arm stroke, pauses at balance point before driving to plate, high 3/4 arm slot, hides the ball well from the hitter. Fastball worked 74-76 MPH with good heaviness down in the zone, which worked to get weak contact. Showed 11/5 curveball with solid depth and shape, was able to throw the pitch for strikes consistently. Excellent student.
