Jack Clougherty is a 2019 1B/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Hingham, MA who attends Hingham. Big and strong build with broad shoulders and some present strength. Ran a 5.46 second 40 yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields out front coming through ball well into gather, turns to throw getting on top of throws with good carry. Also took reps in the outfield, mostly upright fielding position, short shuffle into release with some quickness, compact arm action with average arm strength, topped out at 81 mph from the outfield. Also pitched, simple side step up to a high leg lift, short arm action up to a high 3/4 slot, good use of front side, could utilize lower half more for add drive down the mound, stays in line well to the plate, developing arm speed, fastball flashed some cut but is mostly straight, developing curveball and changeup. Righthanded hitter, strides online into contact, hands start pulled back, weight sits on backside with a solid weight transfer into contact but could still get more from lower half, not a lot of effort in swing, hits the ball out front with some extension, jump to pull side when squared. Good student.
