Matthew Perez is a 2021 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Alamo, TX who attends Robert Vela. Small and stocky frame. Ran an 8.18 second 60 yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the baseball bending at the waist, young actions at the position with a quick release into his throws when fielded cleanly, releases from a 3/4 arm slot and playable footwork that is still developing, average arm strength topping out at 78 mph from first base. Secondary lefthanded pitcher, sets up on the third base side of the rubber, works from a modified windup beginning with a side step up to a high leg lift, takes arm back to a full arm action up to a high ¾ arm slot, fastball topped out at 80 mph with plane when releasing on the top of the pitch, mixed in a developing curveball. Lefthanded hitter,r sets up with a slightly open stance, quiet load with clean separation, projects well with his swing, works the baseball to all parts of the field with some barrel control.
