Anthony Piazza is a 2021 SS/2B, 3B, OF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Lynbrook, NY who attends East Rockaway. Medium, square shouldered frame with a lean and projectable build, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with a wide base and two hands, works into a compact arm action on throws and shows ability to drop slot, arm strength will continue to develop, extra step through release, occasionally opens front side early. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow away from body; utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Loads hands back at start of swing, on time coming through the zone and shows quickness to hands. Gets rotational at times but uncoils well into contact, gets extended out front at the point of contact, shows handle for the barrel. Good student.
