John Edwards is a 2018 1B with a 6-0 225 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Arbor View HS. Large frame with strong, physical present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.25 seconds. Sets up to hit from open stance with good balance present throughout. Swings the bat hard with good intent through the zone. Loads back early and shows clean trigger mechanics. Willing and able to work to all fields when hitting, capable of going up both gaps with good lift off the barrel, swing and strength both project well in terms of power. Worked out defensively at 1st base. Shows good, quick footwork both around and off of the bag, comes in on ball well when necessary, fields cleanly and makes clean pivot to throw to 2nd or 3rd base. Accurate throws across the diamond clocked up to 68 MPH. Good student.
