Zane Morehouse is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Hubbard, TX who attends Dawson High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and long limbs, has present strength to frame and projects with addtional room to fill throughout. Primary shortstop, graded best on the mound in this look. Begins with a full hand-over-head start to delivery with a high leg lift above belt; short and on line stride down the mound. Quick arm from a three-quarters release point, topped out at 86 mph and filled the zone with fastball, effort at release, short running life down in the zone and projects for more velocity with additional lower half implemented at release. Curveball showed depth with occasional tilt up to 74 mph. Strong arm across the infield, extra step at release, fields the ball out front, arm plays on left side with carry out of his hand. Switch-hitter, begins with an even stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; stays short to the ball with a linear stroke and does a nice job of repeating mechanics, swings with intent and utilizes a contact oriented approach. Starts with a wider base from the left side with similar high hand set, stays short and inside the baseball, worked pull side and shows looseness to wrists, can continue to get extended out front at point of contact.
