Braden Young is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Foxboro, MA who attends Xaverian Brothers. Medium, square shouldered frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.97 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front, makes the plays and shows ability to drop slot on throws, gets the ball out of glove cleanly, consistently accurate with throws across diamond, arm strength will continue to develop. Also pitched, medium leg lift at start of delivery, long stride coming down the mound and works to a lower three-quarters release point with some across body action on the pitch. Sound tempo and pitched to contact, fastball topped out at 74 mph, worked around the zone, mixed a curveball with 11-5 shape up to 65 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow and tall stance in the box; loads hands back in load. Contact oriented approach and works to the middle of the field with a linear path through the zone. Shows some quickness to hands and shows a handle for the barrel, projects with added strength. Good student.
