Krystian Padron is a 2018 C/RHP/1B with a 5-9 200 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oak Ridge HS. Medium frame with a solid build. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving. Gains some ground while working out of crouched with smooth paced footwork. Loose, clean exchanges while working through transition and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced softer carry to the bag topping at 67 miles per hour. Also worked out from the infield showing deliberate footwork while centering the baseball. Funnels from a deeper position and worked through transfer with loose exchanges. Released from a three-quarters slot topping at 69 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Stays on back side throughout with rotational lower half actions to contact. Loose hand path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Consistently looked to work to the middle of the field an pull side gap throughout batting practice. Flashed some jump off the barrel when creating extension through the zone and working between the gaps. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step delivery. Creates coil over back side at gather and lands at a slightly closed position on front side. Released from a high three-quarters slot producing softer downhill angle through the zone, topped at 72 miles per hour. Curveball had some spin with occasional depth in the low 60's. Consistently looked to pitch backwards and get ahead in counts with curveball early. Flashed some feel for the outside edge of the zone when repeating arm action and tempo. Good student as well.
