Jess Cogan is a 2020 1B/RHP with a 6-4 155 lb. frame from Peachtree Corners, GA who attends Duluth HS. Tall and very slender build, long arms and legs. Right handed hitter, loads his hands over the plate, open stance, has some rhythm to his load and swing, good swing path and timing, not strong enough at present to turn the barrel but a good swing foundation to build on with additional strength. 7.47 runner. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a simple delivery and good direction to the plate, high 3/4's arm slot with good extension out front. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with occasional arm side run. Throws both a slider and curveball with 10/4 sweeping action, showed good hand speed on his change up. Getting stronger will be the key to his development. Good student.
