Joseph Firestone is a 2017 OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Santa Barbara, CA who attends Santa Barbara HS. Medium frame with a solid, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.35 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove action while funneling baseball with developing fluidity through exchange and transition. Shows a loose arm action that created accurate, on line carry to the bag, topped at 82 mph. Left handed hitter with a balanced, slightly open stance. Shows a nice, fluid flow through the zone on a line drive plane through extension. Has some strength with bat speed when squaring contact. Turns the barrel aggressively to pitches in creating loud, line drive contact to the pull side gap. Stays balanced throughout while repeating swing mechanics. Hitting tools project, tools will continue to improve with caliphs maturity and repetition. Outstanding student as well.
