John Curran is a 2018 RHP/ with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Cranford, NJ who attends St. Peter's Prep. Large frame with long limns and an athletic build. Frame projects to support additional size and strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple, repeatable side step delivery. Stayed balanced at gather and utilizes lower half well while driving in line to the plate. Clean take back at separation and released from a high three-quarters to near over top arm slot. Generated some downward angle through the zone with a fastball that sat in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Consistently filled the zone and worked ahead of hitter with the fastball offering flashing occasional run to arm side as well. Curveball had solid spin out of hand producing good depth to the bottom of the zone. Also utilized a changeup with developing feel for the zone. Consistently changed speed and kept hitter off balance induced weak, ground ball contact. Good student as well.
