Austin Edwards is a 2020 OF/C with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Cade, LA who attends St. Thomas More High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 7.46 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows bend to actions at start in drills, receives the ball out front with quick transfer into full arm action through the back, gains short ground with lower half and continuing to refine overall footwork will help lower pop, works through the ball and shows accuracy on throws down to second base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Utilizes a toe tap triggers and strides on line into contact, stays short to the ball and generates bat speed through the zone. Linear plane and creates line drive contact to all parts of the field, hits the ball out front and comes off the barrel well when on time. Good student.
