James Byrne is a 2020 SS/RHP, UT with a 5-5 112 lb. frame from North Port, FL who attends Imagine Preparatory High School At Apache Junction. Very young player with a lean, slender build and room to continue to fill out. Posted a 7.63 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, younger actions in the field with developing arm strength and transfer skills. At the plate, started open with a linear swing path through the zone. Shifts weight well through his hips with good a swing that will improve with additional lower half incorporation. Also pitched, compact arm circle with a high three quarter slot and an online delivery. Worked well glove side and was around the zone with all of his pitches. Fastball worked 64-66 mph and showed an 11/5 shaped curveball as well. Good student.
