Chase Shelton is a 2024 2B/RHP, 3B, SS with a 5-9 142 lb. frame from Paducah, KY who attends Marshall County. Ran a 7.55 second 60 yard dash. A primary second baseman with a lean athletic build. He showed good footwork on the infield with a good directional first step, the hands get down in time and he gets the ball across the diamond with okay arm strength. On the mound he starts with a small side step into a belt high leg lift with a tuck at the top of the leg lift, showed good use of the lower half with some drop and drive actions working on line down the mound, the fastball sat 71-73 mph from a higher extended three-quarters arm slot while throwing it to both sides of the plate, also mixed in a slider in the mid 60's with good sweeping action with extension out front. At the plate, his righthanded swing starts with an open stance, he uses a leg lift trigger landing closed at times, the barrel path works steep into the zone to the inside part of the ball, showed feel for the barrel working to all fields, has some hand speed and projects for more pop with added strength to the frame.
