Michael Krist is a 2017 3B/1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Valley HS. Thick strong build. Right handed hitter, spread stance, tends to swing his lead leg to trigger swing creating timing issues, has strength in his swing when he's timed up and can drive the ball, gets extended through contact well with present bat speed. 7.43 runner, plays through the ball well defensively, tends to sweep his glove at the ball, long arm action, also plays first base. Took a turn on the mound, long arm action from a mid 3/4's arm slot with good extension out front. Fastball topped out at 77 mph, soft sweeping curveball, threw strikes and competed well. Has the tools to keep developing as a hitter. Good student.
