Dane Jones is a 2020 SS/IF/RHP with a 6-1 145 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Braswell. Slender long build with some wiry hidden strength and plenty of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a very short swing with good quickness to it, gets extended through the ball well and creates some bat speed at contact, line drive swing plane. 7.19 runner, shows good athleticism in the middle infield with active feet through the ball, sure hands out front, arm swing is a bit long but there is some arm strength and carry there. Also pitched, side step delivery with a short stride down the mound, high 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill well, low effort release. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with some sinking action, nice curveball spin and landed the pitch well for strikes, developing change up. Good all around player with the potential to get stronger with additional strength. Good student.
