Mike Weingarten is a 2007 LHP with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Pittsford NY, who attends Sutherland HS. He has a lean body that hasn't added much strength yet. Weingarten has a slow paced, deliberate delivery and stays under control and balanced well until his release, where he falls off hard to the third base side over a hard front side. Weingarten's arm action is long in back and he has a standard 3/4's release point. His best pitch is a 70 mph curveball that has a sharp, hard 1/7 downer bite when he maintains his arm speed and lets the ball go cleanly. He got some strikeout's with his curveball and hitter's didn't look good on the pitch. Weingarten's fastball was 79-83 mph and he mixed his fastball and curveball up effectively. He should continue to improve and looks like a good athlete with some projection. Weingarten is a good student and has signed with St. Bonaventure.
