Brian Santana is a 2016 C/2B with a 5-9 179 lb. frame from Vega Alta, PR who attends Juan J. Maunez Pimentel. Medium, athletic build with square shoulders and present strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.22 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, starts with a low set behind the plate, compact and simple actions with sound and repeatable fundamentals, gets on top of throws well with a quick transfer and release with carry to throws, 1.92 best pop time. Righthanded hitter, starts with a slightly open stance and a high hand set away from body. Full swing through the zone, incorporates strength of lower half into swing, high finish and shows feel for the barrel to the ball. Pull approach but shows comfort hitting the the middle and pull side parts of field, occasionally gets to front side early. Very good student.
