Troy Gleason is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Helenville, WI who attends Jefferson HS. Medium, athletic frame with lean build, projects well physically and has room to fill out. Primary right handed pitcher, works to a three-quarter's arm slot with clean, compact arm circle in the back. Lands online, has solid direction to the plate. Fastball up to 75 mph, pitch has small running action to the armside, shows good feel for locating to that side of the plate. Also flashed feel for a big-breaking curveball. Offering changes hitters' eye level and timing, can be more effective when kept down in the strike zone. Also worked out in the infield, showed nice, soft hands in workouts. Compact arm-action, gets the ball out quickly, could work through the ball a bit more, but throws were accurate across the diamond. Right handed hitter, deep hand position set. Middle- of the field approach, displayed developing feel for using the barrel. Contact-oriented swing, could incorporate a bit more lower-half into swing. Good student.
