Marcus Joyner is a 2020 LHP/1B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Seymour, TN who attends Seymour HS. Recorded an 8.29 second 60-yard dash time. Large build with present strength and physicality to the body. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a simple side step into a medium leg lift. Stays balanced on the back side at the gather point. Works to the plate with drop and drive mechanics. Lands online with the plate and works over the front side well. Hides the baseball well with a compact arm circle and released from a higher three-quarter arm slot. Curveball showed 1/7 shape with solid depth. Slows arm some on the breaking ball and has confidence in the pitch. Located the fastball to the outer edge of the plate consistently and flashed some cutting life. Secondary first baseman with a shorter arm action and clean actions. Developing arm strength from the position. Lefthanded hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Big leg lift trigger with a linear lower half shift into contact. High hand set with a high back elbow and a loose path to contact. Naturally lofted barrel plane and turns the barrel to contact well. Looks to lift to the pull side. Hands work well into the swing. Consistently on time and repeats well. Excellent student.
