Rhyse Frey is a 2016 LHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends John F Kennedy Catholic HS. Medium-large frame with athletic build and good levels of projection remaining. Has athleticism throughout mechanics and delivery on mound. Shorter arm action to mid three quarters slot, arm works pretty well, swings open front hip and throws himself offline, causing arm to drag at times. Fastball worked 77-81 and topped at 82 MPH, showing good life to the arm side, especially when commanded down in zone. Showed three secondary pitches. CH showed solid fading action in mid 70's; SL worked in the low 70's with shorter break but sharp, tight spin; showed CB as well in upper 60's with solid depth and feel to spin it. Most effective when commanding FB down in zone and allowing movement of pitch to power away hitters. Very good student.
