Darby Naughton is a 2017 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Goleta, CA who attends Dos Pueblos HS. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Right handed pitcher with a smooth temp, high leg lift delivery. Creates some rocking action while at balance. Creates a deeper arm stab at separation and releases from a compact, high three-quarters to over top arm slot. Arm action shows quick whip through extension. Uses lower half well while driving to the plate creating solid downhill angle. Fastball has plus arm side run with sinking action in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with tight spin and solid depth, showing 2 planes at times. Projects for additional velocity with physical maturity. Outstanding student as well.
