Ryan McLean is a 2016 RHP/ with a 6-3 160 lb. frame from Holly Springs, NC who attends Holly Springs. Large frame with lean, athletic present build and high-end physical projection remaining on body. Pitches with traditional hands over head into delivery, shows athleticism and looseness in delivery, very short arm action to high 3/4 slot, FB worked 76-80 with quality sinking action when commanded down in zone. Some drop and drive in mechanics, does good job of using lower half. Shows quality arm speed. Complemented FB with good slider, able to manipulate shape of pitch to give varying looks to opposing hitters. Will show more traditional tilting slider, can also get more on top of pitch and turn it into a more vertical downer slider; both looks have excellent spin and overall snap. Pitches to both sides of the plate with effectiveness with both pitches. Good student.
