2015 Mid Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Danny Roth is a 2016 SS/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from West Hartford, CT who attends Hall HS. Has broad shoulders, long limbs, a tall slender build. Plenty of room to fill out physically as he continues to put on additional muscle. Posted a 7.08 60-yard dash, runs well. From the infield, fields the ball out front and does a nice job coming through the baseball. Displayed the ability to throw accurately from different arm slots and while on the move. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with an open stance, high hand set, and high back elbow. Strides on load back to squared awhile hands get more shallow. Swings on a line drive swing plane with a full swing that generates some lift at the point of contact. Ball comes off the barrel week and has strength in swing. Will see even more pop off the bat as he continues to incorporate the lower half. On the mound throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with long arm action and good arm speed. High energy and paced delivery with a high leg lift and drive from the lower half. Curveball has 11/5 shape with good depth and command. Works quickly and efficiently. Projects as he continues to develop. Good student. Named to Mid Atlantic Top Prospect List.
