Michael Jenkins is a 2017 1B/2B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Liverpool, NY who attends Cicero-North Syracuse. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, flexible actions defensively and moves well off the bag, quick pivot, footwork will continue to develop, quick transfer with accuracy on throws across. Fields out front in the infield, full arm action with extension out front, arm strength will continued to develop. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an open and upright stance, gets closed well through weight shift moving into contact. Shows quickness to hands and hits the ball out front, short path and does a nice job of repeating swing. Loads on time, line drive swing plane with sound bat speed and solid contact coming off the barrel to the middle of the field.
