Lance Waranis is a 2017 1B/OF with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Narragansett, RI who attends Narragansett. Large frame with long limbs/levers; solid build throughout with good projection remaining as well. Ran a 7.09 seconds 60 yard dash. Hits from upright, narrow stance with leg lift trigger; shifts weight well but will drift onto front side some at times, middle-field approach with line drive swing plane, made hard contact on a line to middle and pull fields with consistency, good extension through contact. Stayed down on the ball well defensively, fielding cleanly at 1B and showing solid athleticism and footwork, throws accurately to 2B and 3B with velocity topping at 75 MPH. Pitched as well, showing medium-length arm stroke up to high 3/4 slot, FB worked 74-76 and touched 77 with solid run to arm side, lots of moving parts in delivery, has deception, showed slider with slurvy 10/4 shape with some tilt, throws both pitches for strikes consistently and got lots of weak contact. Very good student.
