Austin Brown is a 2017 SS/2B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Dallas, GA who attends South Paulding HS. Medium, athletic frame with slender present build; body projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.07 seconds. Sets up to hit from open stance and wide base with hands and back elbow set high. Leg lift timing mechanism with deep hand load, shows good hand quickness at launch with line drive swing plane to and through the zone. Gets lower half involved well, stays committed to the middle of the field and shows ability to consistently drive the ball back through the middle on a line, as well as to work the other way when necessary. Worked out defensively in the infield, fields with two hands out front in good funnel mechanics, works through the ball into extended crow hop, transfers and releases the ball quickly with very good arm strength across the diamond, throws clocked up to 83 MPH with solid accuracy to the bag.
