Ethan Morris is a 2017 OF/C with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Oceanside, CA who attends Vista HS. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Right handed hitter with a straight, balanced stance and high back elbow set. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Compact, line drive swing plane with balance through extension. Consistenly squared contact with a mid-field approach. Timed well in batting practice and games with solid barrel control throughout the zone. Flashed strength at contact with the ability to drive the baseball through the gaps at times. Worked out defensively from the outfield showing athletic actions while closing on baseball. Quick glove to hand exchanges into a long, loose arm action that produced downhill plane with accurate carry to the bag. Solid arm strength with a high energy release from the outfield, topping at 89 mph. Good student as well.
