Colten Hill is a 2017 MIF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Highlands Ranch, CO who attends Rock Canyon HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Right handed hitter with a spread, open stance. Hands load to a slightly lower plane and launch to contact on a slightly uphill path. Some some bat speed through contact with good extension. Stays balanced throughout swing allowing for consistent all fields contact. Looks to create backspin while driving the ball in the air to both gaps. Worked out defensively from the infield showing a smooth tempo release with rotational throwing mechanics. Throws produces some on line carry with accuracy across infield topping at 72 mph. Moves feet well while surrounding the baseball with developing range to both sides. Ran a 6.82 sixty-yard dash. Profiles as a second base prospect at this time. Good student as well.
