Hunter Corbell is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Maumelle, AR who attends Central Arkansas Christian. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout body. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball with sound footwork, gets behind the ball and works through it nicely, fields out front and repeats mechanics, very quick and compact arm action in the back with some hook but comes through cleanly and gets on top with extension out front, solid present arm strength with carry to the intended bag. Also pitched, uses a rock step to move into delivery, long and quick arm action through the back with some across the body finish after landing closed. Hip turn at top, works to a three-quarters arm slot and creates angle to the lower third of zone with fastball, topped out at 80 mph with short running life, shows 12-6 shape to curveball and sharper snap to slider at 68 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and uses a high leg lift trigger at start of swing. Loads hands deep at beginning of swing, comes out of it well and shows quickness to hands, full swing path coming through the zone. Shows lift and extension out front when on time with swing, creates steady contact to the pull side part of field, gets hips through swing quickly, repeats mechanics nicely. Good student.
