Kasen Wied is a 2016 RHP/SS with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Van Vleck, TX who attends Van Vleck HS. Medium build, plenty of room to get stronger, young look. Easy mechanics, slow paced cross body delivery, compact arm action works well, tight 3/4's arm slot, stays over the rubber well. Steady upper 70's fastball, commands it well, mostly straight with occasional arm side run. Soft curveball, tends to slow arm on release but throws for strikes. Competes well and fields his position. Right handed hitter, simple swing mechanics, line drive swing plane, inside hand path, hits to all fields. Good student.
