Jacob Berger is a 2019 C/2B, 3B, SS with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Canton, GA who attends Cherokee HS. Recorded a 7.34 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with some strength but broad shoulders and a presently strong lower half. Primary catcher who threw 80 mph from behind the plate and recorded a 1.87 second pop time. Arm strength plays from behind the dish with a very quick release and gets on top of throws. Good balance and gains ground properly. Clean hands and adjusts well while keeping throws low to the ground. Arm strength plays from the infield well as he fits into a third base profile there. Righthanded hitter with some balance. Wide base with a high hand set and high back elbow. Simple swing and hand load and works gap-to-gap with a line drive swing plane. Good student. Named to the 2018 Sunshine Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
