Desmond Bunting is a 2017 C/3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Santa Monica, CA who attends Santa Monica. Bunting has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he has a high set up on his pop throws and stands to throw. Bunting showed developing actions with developing catch and throw mechanics. He showed arm strength up to 73 MPH on his pop throws and was up to 76 MPH across the infield as well. At the plate, he starts with an open stance with a busy load. Bunting uses a quick leg pull back load and made contact to the opposite field. He made solid contact towards the end of his BP round when he was on time with the barrel. Bunting showed occasional pop and has some hitting tools that will improve with a simpler approach. Excellent student.
