William Kempner is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from San Jose, CA who attends Valley Christian Schools. Thick and strong build. Drop and drive mechanics, gets low behind the ball, extended 3/4's arm slot with a long and loose arm, has very good arm speed. Fastball topped out at 93 mph early, settled down to 89-91 mph quickly, limited fastball plane but gets some run and sink down in the zone. Sweeping curveball from the 3/4's arm slot, will drop to low 3/4's and even sidearm to throw a tight slider, slider tends to be flat. Mixes things up and throws lots of strikes and has an idea how to spot the ball, will have to stay out of the middle of the zone with his slider. Good student, verbal commitment to Gonzaga.
