Dean Kirby is a 2019 SS/2B, RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from La Plata, MD who attends La Plata. Medium build, tall and projectable frame with room to fill. Ran a 7.83 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, some fluidity to actions, stands taller at gather, footwork could use some fine tuning for better control and balance, soft hands with clean exchange to hand, average arm strength across diamond topping out at 76 mph. Also pitched, pretty fluid windup with a crossfire delivery, short arm action to a 3/4 arm slot, drop and drive actions with solid back leg drive, fastball has armside run, mixed in an 11-5 curveball with bite. Righthanded hitter, upright and open stance, hand sit close to chest, small leg lift trigger with a deep hand load leading into swing, inside hand path, uphill barrel plane, could work on more consistent barreled contact.
