Nick Estes is a 2019 RHP with a 6-4 210 lb. frame from Rahway, NJ who attends St. Joseph High School. Extra-large, athletic build, present strength proportioned well throughout frame, square shoulders with long limbs. Primary righthanded pitcher, side step moving into delivery, up-tempo throughout with some drop and drive on back side. Full arm action through the back working to an extended three-quarters slot, uses length to generate extension out front. Fastball comes out clean from hand, quick arm, shows heaviness to fastball and bumped 85 mph early in outing. Inconsistent foot strike effects timing occasionally, maintains velocity out of the stretch. Settled in and began to sync up halves, broke bats with fastball life and projects for additional velocity moving forward. Showed a feel for curveball and used it to set up fastball, 11-5 shape with tight rotation and depth up to 70 mph. Intriguing tools that will continue to develop moving forward. Good student.
