Shane Hickey is a 2020 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 6-1 158 lb. frame from Jackson, NJ who attends Jackson Liberty High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 5.11 40-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and works behind the ball well, shows balance, extra step prior to release, soft hands work out front, can stay lower through gather, overall clean actions with projectable arm strength. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an upright and slightly open stance with a high hand set and high back elbow at the plate. Does a nice job of getting on line with front side, creates extension out front at point of contact with a smooth path through the zone. Ball comes off the barrel well, shows quickness to hands with steady line drive contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Solid tools on both sides of the ball which should continue to develop. Named to Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List. Good student.
