Ryan Sosa is a 2021 C/1B, 2B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Groves, TX who attends Port Neches-Groves HS. Recorded a 7.32 second 60-yard dash time. Large frame with broad shoulders and room to fill out. Primary catcher whose hands work well with a long stride to transition. Good arm strength recorded up to 77 mph with a best pop time of 2.03 seconds. Clean footwork with online and on time throws with good feel for the position. Righthanded hitter with a bent knee stance and a flat barrel path. Uses the whole field with good present barrel skills. Open stance with quick and strong wrists. Fairly direct path to contact with the requisite strength throughout to create carry to both gaps. Good student.
