Evan Smith is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Rutherford, NJ who attends Rutherford. Large, athletic build with long limbs and a lean projectable build with room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front and shows quick feet to the ball, stays upright at release, short arm action and does a nice job of getting on top of throws. Arm strength will continue to development with incorporation of lower half into release. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set. Small stride into contact, line drive swing plane with occasional lift to pull side. Patient approach in the box, consistent line drive contact to pull side showing off nice set of contact skills. Good student.
