Nicholas Yanco is a 2017 3B/1B, OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Rutland, MA who attends Wachusett Regional. Large frame with well-proportioned, athletic build and good projection remaining on frame. Hits from tall stance to start, crouches down and back into load, incomplete weight shift into contact but shows quality bat speed and hands to and through the zone, leverage in swing with good jump off the barrel. Ball carries well when lifted into air, good extension through contact with overall projectable hitting tools. Worked out defensively both in the IF and at 1st base. Stays down on the ball well with clean fielding actions in IF, quick footwork through transfer and crow hop, threw accurately across diamond up to 66 MPH. Showed good footwork at 1B, spins well on throws to 2B, solid footwork overall, consistently accurate throws to both 2B and 3B. Very good student.
