Joseph Cunningham is a 2018 C/1B with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Lancaster, PA who attends Lancaster Country Day. Medium frame, medium build and some present strength. Right handed hitter with a spread stance and a leg lift trigger. Shifts lower half into contact and tends to hit from a taller front side. Launches hands to contact with a slightly downhill swing path that generates occasional rising line drives. Tends to throw bat head to contact with a primary pull side approach. Worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a quick transfer and extended release. Showed compact arm actions that generated consistent accuracy around the bag. Creates some direction and momentum to bag with developing explosiveness. Tools should coninute to develop with physical and mechanical development. Good student as well.
