Drayton Black is a 2022 2B/RHP, 3B, SS with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Boise, ID who attends Mountain View. Large and advanced build for his age. Ran an 8.15 second 60 yard dash. Primary second baseman who took reps in the infield, bends at waist to gather the baseball out in front with soft hands, developing footwork at the point of gather, gets rid of the baseball quickly, developing arm strength that should only improve as he matures. Secondary righthanded pitcher, side step up to a high leg lift, could work on getting upper half in sync with lower half as he drives down the mound, short stride down the mound, could work on repeating release point for added command, fastball topped out at 70 mph, mixed in an 11-to-5 curveball, needs more development on the mound with added growth on the mound. Righthanded hitter, even stance, inverted leg lift trigger, rotational swing with average bat speed, should look to adjust grip of the bat handle for added hand quickness, looks to pull the baseball with mostly pull side line drive contact during round.
